Pahiyas Festival is a colorful and lively celebration where the locals express their gratitude for the past year’s great harvest and wishes for a good harvest for the next year. It is held every May 15th in Lucban, Quezon, in honor of the patron saint of farmers, San Isidro Labrador. The celebration is usually kicked off with a procession of the image of their patron saint. The parade passes houses which are all colorfully decorated with “kiping” which is made from grounded rice which is shaped and colored.
