IZAKAYA ALMA: JAPANESE RESTAURANT IN CALINAN

CALINAN, home of the Philippine Eagle, the place of the famous Malagos Garden Resort and named as the Durian Capital of Davao City. Calinan also is home of Japanese descendants. During the World War II, Calinan was the settling ground of the Japanese. Today, Japanese descendants embraced the Filipino culture and some of them decided to stay for good. In some of my dine outs, I've met a descendant who married a Filipina. They decided to put up an eatery style restaurant named IZAKAYA ALMA.

The restaurant is located along the highway of Riverside, Calinan Davao City just few distance of St. Peter Funeral Home.

Together with my officemates, we decided to try the dish at the said restaurant to taste if it is good. The order is very cheap from Php30.00.

Tonpeiyaki

Yakisoba

Tempura

The food is good because the ingredients they use is import from Japan. The place has a simple ambiance unlike the typical restaurant in the City because it was like an eatery type. But I can give a two thumbs up for the great hospitality of the owner and his wife.

I got the chance to meet the owner, Mr. Sasaki. He is a very good cook. Everytime you visit in Calinan, don't forget to drop by in their small eatery. It is located a few distance from the St. Peter Funeral. Just ask the driver or the conductor to drop you in that area.
