The Bangsi Festival celebrates Maitum's prosperous fishing industry, particularly on bangsi (flying fish). The festival features street dancing performed by representatives coming from different schools. Dance themes portray marine life and the dancers wear colorful costumes symbolizing life in the sea.
The highlight of the festival is the Sugba-sugba sa Bangsi sa Kadalanan or the grilling of a ton of Bangsi in front of the Municipal Hall.
